Do You Ever Struggle With Post Titles?

We had a group of snowstorms before Christmas that really came at a bad time.  I wasn’t able to get out and shovel the driveway right away, so we drove over the snow a few times and that compacted it into ice.  As you can see from this picture…

… the ice got pretty thick.  I got home from work early on Christmas eve and had some time to put in quite a bit of work on the ice with a giant ice scraper.  The above picture was taken after breaking up one tire track’s worth of ice.  By the time that I got done with the other tire track there was, obviously, twice as much ice.

I guess the moral of the story is to shovel the driveway even if you have to wait until midnight to start on it.

  1. That looks like a LOT of work. Is this an adaption of the old adage "a shovel in time saves nine?"

  2. No, fun! I took a slide on the road on some ice not unlike that. Ended up stuck in the snow bank on the other side of the street. Had to have a couple of strangers help push me out. How embarrassing.

  3. That is a great photo. And I'm sure it was a lot of fun scraping that up. I like shoveling snow but I HATE shoveling ice.

  4. That represents a lot of hard work, I can tell. Sorry you had to deal with it, but I've enjoyed the snow.

  5. It may be hot as all get out in Phoenix during the summer time, but I don't have to shovel the heat :-).

  6. Snow is OK. Ice that never melts is a pain! I remember in Gunnison we couldn't take off our undershirts or go to school without coats until the ice melted on the North side of the house. Sometimes it seemed it never would. Aunt Lynda
